| The Montmartre neighborhood
is one of the most famous areas of Paris, with a special village
feeling. Our apartment is located on the western slope of "The
Butte" (as Montmartre is a hill) and has the best of both
worlds. You are very close to the action, but a little away
from the incessant tramp of tourists that characterizes the
area of Sacre Coeur or Abbesses. Square Carpeaux is a charming
small square with neighborhood bistros, the essential boulanger
and other traditional small business of a true Parisian "quartier."
There is even a large park just a few minutes away, where
you can watch the pigeons a la Hemingway, or doze in the sun
over the newspaper. Perhaps the most special aspect of the
neighborhood is its close proximity to the shopping streets
of Damremont and Lepic. Both are justly famous for the quality
of their provisioners, cheese, wine, pastries, fish and meat,
fruits and vegetables. Both streets attract a knowledgeable
clientele who expect the highest quality, with a neighborhood
ambiance. Just to walk down the street during market hours
makes one feel inspired! Non-chefs are not ignored either,
as there are many charming small restaurants close-by.

Our guests comment:
"Your apartment was just perfect for
all our needs. Having 2 metro lines, actually 3 and the 95 bus
which goes across the city north and south steps away is so
convenient. ...the amenities of washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher,
freezer, great oven, gourment kitchen and updated bathroom were
superb!
(Jan and Joe, May 2003)
"New Year's Eve was a great one for
us, since we preferred the quiet comfort of this wonderful apartment
to the noisy celebrations outside. We felt like "natives"
(except for the language part) using the local shopping streets
Damremont, Lepic and Blvd Raspail's organic market to fill the
wonderful kitchen with cooking smells.
(Keith and Rebecca, January 2003).
"What a place to remember! We have
had so mnay wonderful experiences. The local restaurants were
terrific. The neighborhood was friendly and inviting!"
(Terri and Robert, November 2002)
