The Park in Square Berlioz
|
|
|
|
A supervised park
with lots of sun, benches and neighborhood activity.
|
|
Journey back to the end of the 19th century in the charming,
intimate street, rue de BRUXELLES. You will find yourself neighbors
with Emile Zola as he works passionately on "J'accuse"
next door. On your other side, Madame Lili and her adorable
poodle, LuLu will greet you for a "very French" lunch.
Afterwards, you can stroll over to Place Adolphe Max and gaze
on the ever-watchful M. Berlioz who holds a permanent place
of honor in his own park. Families and students and office workers
from the neighborhood "hang out" in this cozy park
at lunch time while kids play on the slide and in the sand box.
The chestnut tree at the center of the park is a lovely herald
of Spring and welcome shade in the Summer.
Place de Clichy is a central point in north central Paris from
which to orient our apartment on rue de Bruxelles. This area
is lively, bustling and well served by the metro and buses
to all parts of Paris. Cinemas (16 screens), bistros and a 20 hour neighborhood
are all within steps of the Bruxelles apartment at Clichy. |

Our charming apartment is on the
first floor of an 1880's building in the "Nouvelle Athenes"
neighborhood, well known to Parisians but even today, not
part of the usual tourist itineraries. Our neighbors in this
small building are friendly and welcoming.

Here are comments from guests who have stayed in our Bruxelles
apartment:
|
|
"The
reminiscences of "Paris d'autrefois" are
omnipresent from the beautiful floors and ceilings,
mirrors, fireplaces, doors and windows with their
cast iron sills....it is well known that French
people always find at least 1% of imperfections,
for critics sake, even my French husband could not
find one iota of discord..."

"The apartment is delightful; we appreciate
your thoughtfulness in provisioning it..."
