We find that people are very curious about the "hidden
faces" behind a website. We want to introduce ourselves
and give you the chance to get to know us, even if it is only
from a distance.
We have lived in Paris as permanent
residents for 6+ years, and before that, owned our first apartment
on rue de Douai and traveled widely in France. Stephanie was
formerly a business lawyer with her own small firm in Portland,
Oregon and Darrell was an emergency doctor and administrator
in Seattle, Washington.
Since
we moved to Paris, we have purchased several of our own apartments,
which we renovated ourselves and now rent as self-catering
units. We also have a companion business, ParisRealEstateFinders.com for clients who are looking to buy their own Paris apartment.
We have several principles that are very important to us in
our business. We love living in Paris and we think that visitors
to this enchanting city can have an experience that is more
personal, more open and more fun than that of an ordinary
tourist. Helping our clients feel a part of the real life
of Paris is our first objective.
Secondly, we want to enjoy ourselves
in our business. As a result, we are happy to meet our guests,
help them see Paris as "insiders" and even share
a cocktail or dinner with them. We work hard to be responsive
to our guests' needs--recognizing that we can't always satisfy
every request--but we want people to feel more like they have
stayed in a friend's home than in a short-term rental apartment.
So we invest a great deal of ourselves in this enterprise.
Finally, we know that people can
be apprehensive about the anonymity of an internet transaction,
and more than that, about coming to Paris and staying on their
own. We try to be as accessible as possible, and to help in
the process of "finding your own" Paris. We welcome
your questions and hope that you will discover the special
delight of Paris, whether you stay with us or elsewhere!

We are often asked about the safety
of our neighborhood. All of our buildings have coded, locked
access which is the case in most buildings city-wide. Our
apartments have security-locking doors. Our apartments are
located in neighborhoods where there is activity and people
on the streets -- the "eyes of the street." We consider
our neighborhood very safe. However, Paris is a large, cosmopolitan
city and visitors need to be alert and aware.

Here are
some comments that guests have left us in our guest book:

As "Parisian virgins" before
arriving we were somewhat apprehensive, knowing nothing
of Paris or its arrondissements. You can therefore imagine
our delight arriving at your beautiful apartment. 68, rue
Joseph de Maistre has been the perfect base to explore Paris'
many sights. We've been busy little bees, and our feet are
exhausted. Paris has been a wonderful adventure for both
of us. We hope that all of your future guests will enjoy
it as much as we have. Many thanks for your kind hospitality.

We are finishing a wonderful 4 week stay here in this beautiful
apartment. We are also finishing a 9 month journey throughout
Europe. What memories and life-changing experiences! And
at the top of our list will be Stephanie and Darrell, this
beautiful apartment, and without a doubt, the most beautiful
city in Europe--Paris...We have stayed in almost 20 rentals
during our journey and this apartment is the most colorful,
beautifully decorated, terrific decor and the most accurate
depiction on the Web!.
